Air Algérie will resume flights between Algiers and Tripoli later this month, restoring a route that has been suspended for nearly a decade. The Air Algérie Tripoli flights are scheduled to begin on October 28, with reservations already open.
The service will connect Algiers International Airport with the Libyan capital twice a week. According to schedule details reported by Algerie Eco and attributed to Visas & Voyages Algérie, flights in both directions will operate on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Air Algérie announced the return of Tripoli to its network on September 30. In a message published on its Facebook page, the airline described Tripoli as “your next destination” and said the Libyan capital was once again accessible through its services.
The national carrier suspended its Libya service in 2016, according to Algerie Eco, in the context of the civil war that followed the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
Air Algérie Tripoli Flights Open for Booking
Passengers can now book the Algiers–Tripoli service through Air Algérie’s website and its partner agencies. The source also reports that travelers leaving Tripoli will be able to connect through Algiers before continuing to other international destinations.
The first Algiers-to-Tripoli flight is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28. The planned twice-weekly timetable will then operate on Wednesdays and Fridays, with Tripoli-to-Algiers services scheduled on the same days.
Air Algérie’s announcement invited passengers to reserve seats for the returning destination. “Tripoli… your next destination. The Libyan capital is now a destination accessible with Air Algérie. Book your tickets to Tripoli and prepare for your next trip,” the airline said, in a statement translated from French.
