Air Algérie has announced an Air Algérie Mulhouse route change that will temporarily reroute its flights between Constantine and Mulhouse to Strasbourg Airport from April 15 to May 20, 2026, due to the temporary closure of the runway at Mulhouse Airport.
In a statement released by the national airline, the carrier confirmed that passengers traveling between Constantine and Mulhouse during this period will instead arrive at Strasbourg Airport. The temporary change will remain in effect for just over a month.
The airline explained that the adjustment is necessary because of maintenance work taking place at Mulhouse Airport. Construction and technical operations on the runway require a complete suspension of flight activities for several weeks.
Rather than cancel the route, Air Algérie decided to maintain service by redirecting flights to another nearby airport. This approach allows the airline to continue operating the route while minimizing disruptions for passengers.
The flights affected by the Air Algérie Mulhouse route change are AH1170 and AH1171. These services normally operate twice per week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, connecting Constantine with Mulhouse in eastern France.
During the announced period, however, these flights will operate between Constantine and Strasbourg. Once the runway work at Mulhouse Airport is completed and operations resume, the airline expects to restore the route to its original destination.
The Constantine–Mulhouse route is considered an important connection for the Algerian diaspora living in eastern France and nearby border regions. Many passengers rely on this route to travel between Algeria and their communities abroad, whether for family visits or professional travel.
Strasbourg Airport provides a relatively convenient alternative for travelers during the temporary disruption. However, passengers arriving there will still need to arrange ground transportation to reach Mulhouse or other destinations in the region.
The distance between Strasbourg and Mulhouse is approximately 120 kilometers, meaning travelers may need to continue their journey by train, bus, or private transport after landing.
Air Algérie has advised passengers affected by the schedule adjustment to verify their travel details before departure. Travelers are encouraged to review their booking information and confirm their arrival airport.
The airline also noted that customers who require assistance or further clarification can contact Air Algérie offices or customer service. Additional information regarding schedules, travel conditions, and operational updates will be available through the airline’s official channels.
Once runway operations resume at Mulhouse Airport after May 20, Air Algérie is expected to return to its regular flight schedule between Constantine and Mulhouse, restoring one of the key travel links used by Algerian communities in eastern France.
