Air Algérie has launched a new direct route between Algiers and Berlin, adding Germany’s capital to its growing international network. The Algiers–Berlin service began on Monday, September 14, 2026, and will operate once a week, according to the national airline.
The new route follows President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s official visit to Germany from July 15 to 17, during which he announced plans for a new air connection between the two capitals.
Air Algérie adds Berlin to its German network
The weekly Algiers–Berlin flight expands Air Algérie’s presence in the German market and increases the number of direct weekly flights between Algeria and Germany to five.
The airline already operates four weekly flights between Algeria and Frankfurt. With the addition of Berlin, Air Algérie now offers five weekly services connecting Algeria with Germany.
The airline said the new route is intended to facilitate travel between the two countries and respond to the needs of the Algerian community living in Germany.
Air Algérie also linked the new service to the broader development of relations between Algeria and Germany, particularly as economic and diplomatic exchanges between the two countries have gained momentum.
Algiers–Berlin route follows Tebboune’s Germany visit
The launch of the Algiers–Berlin route comes less than two months after President Tebboune announced the planned service during his July visit to Germany.
Air Algérie described the route as part of the implementation of the directives announced by the president following his official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The airline said the new service also reflects its strategy of continuing to expand its international network and strengthening its presence in European markets.
For passengers, the route provides a direct connection between Algiers and Berlin, potentially making travel between Algeria and the German capital more convenient for business, family and other purposes.
Five weekly Air Algérie flights between Algeria and Germany
With Berlin now added to the network, Air Algérie operates a combined five weekly flights between Algeria and Germany: four to Frankfurt and one to Berlin.
The airline said the expansion is aligned with the renewed momentum in Algeria–Germany relations and aims to support increased movement between the two countries.
The new route also gives Air Algérie a presence in Berlin, Germany’s capital and one of its most important political, economic and international transport hubs.
