Algerian Olympic champion Kaylia Nemour scored 15.050 points on the balance beam at the Swiss artistic gymnastics championships on Saturday, delivering a strong final competitive test before the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam.

Nemour recorded the score with a difficulty value of 6.7 while competing in Switzerland as a guest outside the official rankings. The appearance formed part of her final preparations for the Rotterdam World Championships, scheduled for 17–25 October 2026.

According to Ennahar Online, the Swiss competition gave Nemour an opportunity to test her balance beam routine and assess her preparation before travelling to the Netherlands for the world championships.

Her 15.050 score came in a preparatory setting rather than as an official ranked result, an important distinction as she completes the final stage of her build-up to Rotterdam.

The event follows a 2026 season in which Nemour has collected medals across several international competitions. Ennahar reported that she featured strongly on the apparatus World Cup circuit before adding multiple medals at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.

At the Mediterranean Games, Nemour won three gold medals, taking titles in the all-around, uneven bars and balance beam. She also earned a bronze medal in the team competition.

World championship campaign next

Rotterdam will be Nemour’s next major international competition. The Artistic Gymnastics World Championships are due to take place from 17 to 25 October.

The Algerian gymnast will arrive after the source-reported results from the previous World Championships in Jakarta, where she won gold on the uneven bars and silver on the balance beam.

Ennahar described those results as historic for Algerian and Arab gymnastics. The upcoming competition in Rotterdam gives Nemour another opportunity to compete on the world stage after her preparations in Switzerland.

Her Swiss appearance was described by the source as the final competitive test before the championships, with the balance beam routine providing a last opportunity to evaluate her form in competition conditions ahead of the trip to Rotterdam.
