Algeria face Zambia in Tizi Ouzou on Friday in their opening Group I qualifier for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Algeria vs Zambia match is scheduled to kick off at 20:00 local time on Friday, September 25, at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou, according to a match guide published by TSA Algérie. That is 21:00 in France.

TSA lists ENTV’s terrestrial channel for viewers in Algeria, beIN Sports 4 for the MENA region and beIN Sports 2 in France as the live television options. Viewers should check local listings for any last-minute schedule changes.

First qualifier under a new coach

The fixture opens Algeria’s Group I campaign in qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. TSA reports that it will be Brahim Hemdani’s first match in charge of the national team following the departure of Vladimir Petković.

The publication says it is also Algeria’s first competitive outing since a 2–0 loss to Switzerland at the 2026 World Cup in July. Its preview presents the Zambia match as an early test for Hemdani, a former Marseille player.

TSA’s head-to-head record puts Algeria ahead with seven wins and five losses in 15 previous meetings with Zambia. It lists their most recent encounter as a 3–3 draw in March 2021. Those past results offer context for Friday’s qualifier, but do not determine its outcome.
