Algeria’s labor minister has directed authorities to accelerate the processing of youth unemployment benefits appeals submitted through the Insat digital platform, following a coordination meeting to evaluate central administration performance.
Abdelhak Saihi, Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, chaired the meeting to review the implementation of previous directives and address a persistent backlog affecting young Algerians who were unable to receive unemployment benefits remotely. The minister called on relevant departments to process pending appeals within a reasonable timeframe and at a high level of efficiency.

Saihi described the Insat platform as a central tool in managing unemployment-related appeals, and directed officials to optimize its use while ensuring response times meet citizens’ expectations. His remarks placed particular emphasis on the sensitivity of employment and social support issues for young people — a demographic the minister identified as a priority for the sector.
The meeting also addressed the broader digitization agenda within the labor and social security sector. Saihi called for the accelerated rollout of remote services, framing digital transformation as an essential lever for improving public service quality, reducing the need for in-person visits to administrative offices, and relieving congestion in government structures.
