UN Resident Coordinator Praises Algeria's Key Role in Promoting Global Peace

The United Nations System's Resident Coordinator in Algeria, Alejandro Alvarez, commended Algeria's significant and crucial role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council on Monday for its efforts in promoting global peace.


Following his meeting with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the end of his mission in Algeria, Mr. Alvarez stated, "As a current non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, Algeria is playing a crucial and pivotal role in fostering a peaceful world," reinforcing the country's enduring dedication to peace-building worldwide.


Furthermore, Mr. Alvarez lauded the collaboration between Algeria and various UN agencies, especially in sustainable development, underscoring the advancements achieved by both sides in economic, social, educational, and healthcare sectors.


The meeting was attended by the President's Cabinet Director, Mr. Boualem Boualem.
