Algiers - A delegation from the Tunis Stock Exchange visited the Algiers Stock Exchange on Sunday to explore ways to enhance cooperation between the two institutions, especially in boosting the role of stock market brokers.
Following the visit, Algiers Stock Exchange's Director General, Yazid Benmouhoub, stated that the discussions with the Tunisian delegation aimed to strengthen ties and leverage Tunisian expertise in stock exchange matters to revitalize the market, particularly by empowering brokers.
The focus was on leveraging a modern digital system implemented in Tunisia to enhance communication with the stock market, as per Benmouhoub.
Benmouhoub emphasized the vital role of brokers in supporting market dynamics by providing more trading opportunities for investors.
Meanwhile, Tunis Stock Exchange's Director General, Bilel Sahnoun, highlighted the potential for the development of both markets, citing similarities in the utilization of modern technologies, evaluation methods, investor attraction strategies, and the potential for cross-border broker partnerships.
Stock market brokers play a crucial role in offering financial investment services, including managing securities, trading on behalf of clients, and handling securities portfolios based on mandates.
