ALGIERS – The Algerian company of electrical and gas industries (SAIEG), subsidiary of the Sonelgaz group, has launched its first export operation of the electric vehicles charging stations to Italy and Libya, according to the State-Owned group statment this Sunday.
Khalil Hedna, the spokesperson of the group, specified in a press release that this “operation, the first of its kind, fits into the framework of a contract bearing the export of 433 charging stations with a power of 60 kW and 322 kW fast charging, locally manufactured in accordance with international standards, towards Italy and Libya.”
Mr. Hedna stressed that the creation of the manufacturing factory of electric vehicle charging stations relevant to SAIEG intervenes in “the application of Algeria's state commitment in matters of energy transition” and “contributes to the diversification of foreign currency sources through exports outside hydrocarbons.”
Negotiations are currently at an advanced stage to “conclude many contracts aiming to export other quantities of charging stations to European and Middle Eastern countries,” he added.
