New Measures for Doctoral Competitions in Algeria: A Push for Digitization and Innovation

Sign at the entrance of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research

Efforts in Algeria have increasingly focused on strategic disciplines such as computer science, mathematics, microtechnology, and English language, alongside basic sciences, humanities, and social sciences. These disciplines are recognized for their critical role in fostering innovation and supporting developmental progress.

In alignment with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's strategic goals, significant steps have been taken to implement the "zero paper" policy and simplify administrative procedures. This year's doctoral competitions will see the introduction of new digital facilities to enhance the process for candidates.

Applicants are now required to complete their forms exclusively through the integrated information system "Progress," following the announced schedule. The platform will open on Thursday, 02 January 2025, at midnight, eliminating the need to upload additional documents. Instead, universities will directly assess the administrative and academic eligibility of applicants.

The Ministry acknowledges the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in ensuring the success of this vital national event and extends its best wishes to all candidates participating in the competition.
