On Monday, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, Minister of Housing, and Walid Sadi, Minister of Sports, visited the Ali La Pointe Stadium in Douera following extensive maintenance. The stadium is a key venue for regional sporting events.
During their visit, the ministers toured vital areas of the stadium, including the conference hall, VIP lounge, locker rooms, warm-up area, and the field itself. They emphasized the importance of the stadium meeting all necessary standards for safety, functionality, and comfort for athletes and spectators.
The visit culminated in a meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, where it was decided to create a joint committee between the Ministry of Housing and the Ministry of Sports. This committee will oversee the stadium’s management transition, focusing on coordination with security and civil protection authorities.
Additionally, the committee will be responsible for inventorying all technical and electronic systems of the stadium and ensuring their efficient transfer to the sports sector. A comprehensive training program will be implemented for future stadium staff to enhance skills and ensure the facility’s smooth operation.
This move reflects a wider strategy to improve Algeria’s sports infrastructure, ensuring the effective management and sustainability of facilities vital for the country’s sports development.
