ALGIERS - The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Lounès Magramane, received on Wednesday in Algiers the Chairman of the Military Committee of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Admiral Rob Bauer, who is visiting Algeria from April 17 to 19, 2024, says a Ministry press release.

The visit was part of a tour by the NATO representative to partner countries of NATO's Mediterranean Dialogue.

Discussions provided an opportunity to review partnership relations between Algeria and NATO, and ways of further strengthening them in order to meet the aspirations of both parties, particularly in the context of the implementation of the next bilateral cooperation program, entitled "Individualized Partnership Program", to be decided by both parties, the press release states.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common interest, in particular the challenges facing the Mediterranean region, as well as developments in the Sahel-Saharan region and the Palestinian issue.

Finally, Mr. Magramane recalled Algeria's efforts to develop and stabilize the Sahel region, as well as those undertaken, in particular within the UN Security Council, to stop the genocidal actions in Gaza, the press release concluded.
