Noëlle Lenoir Criticizes Algeria's Diplomatic Stance Towards France Amid Rising Tensions

Former French Minister of European Affairs, Noëlle Lenoir

Former French Minister of European Affairs, Noëlle Lenoir, appeared on Le Figaro TV's "Points de vue" program, discussing the tense diplomatic relations between Algeria and France, particularly the "arbitrary arrest" of Franco-Algerian writer Boualem Sansal.

Speaking about the ongoing diplomatic disputes, Lenoir expressed her shock at how Algeria has treated France. She remarked, "I have never seen a country treat France this way." Lenoir pointed out the uniqueness of France’s political system, which generally reserves foreign policy matters. Despite this, she emphasized the significance of the current tensions, noting that the situation raises many questions and exposes an alarming shift in diplomatic dynamics, particularly under President Tebboune's leadership.

Lenoir's comments highlight the growing rift between the two nations, with her remarks reflecting increasing concern over Algeria’s assertive diplomatic posture.
