Fiat Algérie Unveils the Doblo Panorama at FIA 2024, Denies Launch Rumors

Fiat Doblo Panorama

Fiat Algérie presented its latest model, the Doblo Panorama, at the Foire Internationale d’Alger (FIA) on December 19, 2024. This family-friendly vehicle, part of the Italian brand’s Algerian lineup, was showcased to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune during the event.

While no official pricing or launch date was disclosed, social media quickly buzzed with speculation. Many Algerian consumers, struggling with a shortage of new cars and the rising cost of used vehicles, are eager for this affordable and versatile option.

Fiat Algérie Addresses Rumors

Some outlets prematurely reported that registrations for the Doblo Panorama had begun, along with speculative pricing and options. In response, Fiat Algérie firmly denied these claims.

Registrations for the new Fiat Doblo Panorama have not yet begun,” stated Fiat El Djazaïr, emphasizing that it is the only official source of information on its products.

Production Details

According to Raoui Beji, Fiat Algérie’s CEO, production of the Doblo Panorama will commence in January 2025 at the Stellantis plant in Tafraoui, Oran. Initially, the model will feature a petrol engine, with the possibility of retrofitting a Sirghaz (LPG) kit for added flexibility.

The Doblo Panorama unveiled at FIA was a prototype, with full details about pricing and options to be announced closer to its commercial launch.

Future Expansion Plans

Fiat Algérie is also preparing to introduce a fourth model at its Tafraoui plant by late 2025. This new model, which remains under wraps, will have a 20% integration rate and be assembled through CKD production.

Since opening its Algerian facility in December 2023, Fiat has produced 18,000 vehicles, including the Fiat 500 and the Doblo Tollé (utility vehicle). The brand aims to assemble 60,000 vehicles by 2025 and 90,000 by 2026.
