Boumediene Senoussi Appointed CEO of Djezzy to Lead New Digital Era

Boumediene Senoussi was officially appointed as the new CEO of Djezzy on Sunday, April 20, replacing Mahieddine Allouche, who had served in an interim capacity since August 2022. The appointment was announced by the Ministry of Finance and marks a strategic shift towards innovation and modernization in Algeria’s telecom sector.

The installation ceremony was held at the Fonds National d’Investissement (FNI) headquarters—Djezzy’s main shareholder—with the presence of Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzerd, Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sidali Zerrouki, and the CEO of the FNI.

The Ministry of Finance described the leadership change as the start of a new chapter for Optimum Telecom - Djezzy, focused on technological development, digital transformation, and boosting competitiveness.

In his address, Minister Bouzerd acknowledged Mahieddine Allouche’s 20-month leadership, highlighting his role in maintaining business continuity and stability. He urged the newly appointed CEO to adopt a dynamic approach centered on innovation to elevate Djezzy’s market position.

Minister Zerrouki emphasized the importance of Senoussi’s technological expertise amid Algeria’s push to modernize its telecom industry, particularly with the upcoming launch of 5G services. He also praised Allouche for his role in the company’s ongoing restructuring and development of technological solutions aimed at supporting citizens and the national economy.

With Boumediene Senoussi stepping in as CEO, Djezzy is set to enter a transformative phase aligned with Algeria’s digital ambitions. Backed by government support and industry expertise, the company aims to reinforce its leadership in the telecom sector.
