Bouira Aims to Become a Major Pharmaceutical Production Hub in Algeria

Bouira is positioning itself as a key center for pharmaceutical production in Algeria, with 12 production units, 4 of which are operational. This growth is supported by industrial zones like Oued El Berdi and Dirah, which offer attractive investment opportunities for pharmaceutical professionals.

Bouira's pharmaceutical industry is gaining momentum, driven by ongoing projects and government support. The Minister for the Pharmaceutical Industry, Ouacim Kouidria, emphasized the need for investment in medical equipment production to reduce Algeria's import bill. The sector's potential is highlighted by the achievements of local pharmaceutical units, including Rosaspharma, which produces reagents. Algeria’s goal is to not only manufacture medicines but also produce the raw materials required for their production.

With continued support and investment, Bouira’s pharmaceutical industry is poised for significant growth, contributing to both local economic development and national self-sufficiency in medical production.
