The Algiers Central Municipality organized the "January Couscous" event on Friday, uniting 1,400 families to celebrate Algerian traditions with a shared meal and cultural activities.
The second edition of the "January Couscous" event stretched from the Central Post Square to Maurice Audin Square in Algiers. It featured traditional couscous as the centerpiece, symbolizing the rich heritage and unity of Algerian culture. Over 1,400 families, including children and young people, participated in the celebration.
The event aimed to promote Algerian values of solidarity and interdependence while highlighting the nation's diverse cultural and historical legacy.
In addition to the communal meal, the event offered various cultural and recreational activities for children. Traditional industries were also showcased as part of the January Market, which will continue at the Central Post Mall until January 17.
The "January Couscous" table not only celebrated Algeria’s culinary heritage but also strengthened community bonds through shared traditions and cultural expressions, making it a cherished event in the capital.
