The Algerian Petroleum Institute (IAP), part of the Sonatrach Group, has signed a framework agreement with Mauritania's Hydrocarbons Company (SMH) in Nouakchott to boost training and expertise development, the Group announced on Sunday.
The agreement, finalized last Thursday, follows extensive discussions between Sonatrach's IAP and SMH, highlighting the collaborative efforts of both entities. According to the press release, this partnership stems from a memorandum of understanding signed on June 7, 2022, between Sonatrach and the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company.
Under the agreement, various key areas of collaboration have been established, primarily focused on enhancing the technical and professional capabilities of SMH’s engineers and employees. Training sessions are set to commence during the first quarter of this year, indicating the swift implementation of the partnership’s objectives.
The agreement signifies a step forward in fostering knowledge sharing and capacity building, further strengthening the relationship between Algeria and Mauritania in the energy sector.
With training programs scheduled to begin shortly, this partnership marks a significant milestone in regional cooperation, reinforcing both countries’ dedication to advancing the hydrocarbon sector.
