Algeria's Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf arrives in Kigali to take part in the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda

ALGIERS, The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, arrived in Kigali (capital of Rwanda) on Friday afternoon, to participate in his capacity as personal representative of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the commemorative ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, according to a Ministry press release.


"Algeria's participation in the commemoration of this painful milestone in the history of the Republic of Rwanda is part of its historic relations with this brotherly country, based on fraternity, solidarity and cooperation", the same source states, adding that "the leaders of the two countries, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Paul Kagame, are working to strengthen these relations through all the potential for development with the aim of meeting the aspirations of both parties".


"In addition to his participation in the commemorative activities of this important event, which is of major significance for the Republic of Rwanda, the African continent and the international community, the Minister will be holding meetings with the senior authorities of this sister country, as well as with several representatives of participating states and organizations", the press release concludes.
