Algeria's Secretary of State for Renewable Energies, Noureddine Yassa, held talks with a delegation from the Chinese company LONGi, led by its Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia, Amy Liu, at the Ministry of Energy's headquarters on Monday. The discussions aimed to enhance partnerships in renewable energy sectors, including solar photovoltaic (PV), green hydrogen technology, and energy storage.

The meeting emphasized Algeria's commitment to transitioning to clean energy and achieving energy security. It explored potential collaboration opportunities such as localizing the production of solar cells and panels and positioning Algeria as a regional hub for manufacturing and exporting renewable energy equipment to African and global markets.

Amy Liu highlighted LONGi's interest in expanding its investments in Algeria, particularly in solar PV and green hydrogen projects. Founded in 2000 and based in Xi'an, China, LONGi is a global leader in high-efficiency solar energy products, renowned for its technological innovations in monocrystalline silicon.

This collaboration aligns with Algeria's broader energy transition strategy, focusing on sustainable development and advanced renewable energy technologies.
