The Algerian national football team secured a vital 5-1 victory over Mozambique on Matchday 6 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Mohamed Amoura was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick in front of a passionate home crowd at the Hocine Ait Ahmed stadium in Tizi-Ouzou.

Algeria’s aggressive pressing from the start paid off quickly. In the 7th minute, Riyad Mahrez’s assist to Wolfsburg striker Amoura opened the scoring. A solid defense from the Fennecs kept Mozambique under pressure, leading to a second goal from Aissa Mandi in the 23rd minute.

Mahrez and Amoura were in sync throughout the match, with Mahrez providing another key assist for Amoura’s second goal in the 39th minute. Despite a long-range shot from Mozambique’s Catamo to make it 3-1 in the 41st minute, Algeria maintained control.

The second half was no different, as Amoura continued to shine. In the 64th minute, Amoura's assist allowed Jaouen Hadjam to score, extending the lead to 4-1. Amoura completed his hat-trick in the 79th minute, wrapping up a stellar performance for Algeria and securing a 5-1 win.
