In Doha, the Algerian Minister of Trade and the Promotion of Exports, Tayeb Zitouni, led the opening of the Algerian-Qatari business forum held alongside the exhibition of Algerian products from October 22 to 26 in the Qatari capital, as stated by a ministry release.
The forum's inauguration saw the attendance of the Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry representative, the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) Kamel Moula, the President of the National Union of Public Entrepreneurs (AP) Charaf Eddine Amara, the Managing Director of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) Hocine Zaoui, and the Ministry of Commerce's Director General of Foreign Trade, Samir Deradji, as per the same source.
During his speech, Mr. Zitouni highlighted that this forum signifies the beginning of a strong strategic partnership across various sectors, endorsed by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the Emir of Qatar, Cheikh Tamim ben Hamad al Thani. He expressed gratitude to Qatar for their hospitality and efficient organization, reflecting the robust ties between the two countries.
Mr. Zitouni also mentioned a significant enhancement in Algerian-Qatari economic relations, aiming to double trade volume compared to 2023, reaching eighty (80) million USD.
The inaugural edition of the Algerian products exhibition in Doha features over 150 Algerian companies showcasing a diverse array of products, including renowned agrifood, industrial, and artisanal goods known for their quality in global markets.
The event was coordinated by "Tasdir" (a Safex group subsidiary) in partnership with the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) and the Qatari Chamber, as per the press statement.
