Air Algérie: a plane heading for Istanbul makes a U-turn due to a technical problem

ALGIERS - The national airline, Air Algérie, announced in a press release on Monday that a plane bound for Istanbul had turned back to Algiers international airport on Sunday evening due to a technical problem, assuring that all measures had been taken to assist passengers, pending the scheduling of a new flight, scheduled for this Monday evening.


''Air Algérie, the national airline, wants to inform and reassure its esteemed customers and the general public that, due to a technical issue on flight AH 3018 from Algiers to Istanbul that departed on September 22, 2024, at 11:02 pm from Houari Boumediene International Airport, the captain opted to return as a precautionary measure for the safety of passengers and crew after an hour of flight,'' the announcement stated.


Upon landing back at Houari Boumediene International Airport, the passengers were provided assistance by Air Algérie through accommodation arrangements, and a new flight has been arranged for Monday evening, September 23, 2024, at 10:10 pm to transport them to Istanbul.


The airline also confirms that its maintenance team is diligently working to identify and resolve the technical issue to promptly return the aircraft to service, emphasizing its unwavering commitment to upholding the highest safety standards.''
