Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf held phone calls with his counterparts from Tunisia, Mauritania, and Libya on Thursday, according to an official statement.
Attaf extended New Year greetings, expressing wishes for health, well-being, and prosperity for the Maghreb peoples. The discussions also highlighted Algeria's agenda as it assumes the presidency of the UN Security Council in January.
The ministers exchanged views on political issues of mutual interest and discussed regional integration and cooperation. Maghreb ministers praised Algeria's leadership in the Security Council and its role in promoting peace and security amid growing international conflicts and divisions.
