SETIF - The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Fayçal Bentaleb, asserted on Thursday in Sétif that a new project promoting the principle of vocational training-based orientation towards the labor market will be announced shortly.

During a visit to the facilities of the "Faderco" paper company, specializing in personal hygiene products for babies and adults, located in the industrial zone of Sétif, carried out as part of an inspection and working visit to the province of Sétif, Mr. Bentaleb specified that his ministerial department was putting the finishing touches to the "orientation device" project, drawn up jointly with four sectors, based on a vocational training approach followed directly by recruitment by economic operators.

"The successful experience of Faderco, which trained 11 jobseekers before recruiting them under open-ended employment contracts, increases our faith in this project, which should succeed in Algeria", because, he stressed, "the employment dynamic must be built on the basis of training, as demonstrated by the global trend observed in employment, with the employment market now based on qualifying and adapted training, and no longer on diplomas".

In addition, according to Mr Bentaleb, the "steady increase" in figures and indicators relating to contributions to the National Retirement Fund for the employed people (CNAS) since the start of the year "proves that Algeria is experiencing real economic dynamism".

The new texts and measures decided by the public authorities in recent years have "facilitated investment in Algeria, with companies now being supported, including start-ups, micro-enterprises and others", added the Minister.

Mr. Bentaleb took the opportunity to call on economic operators to "continue down this path, and not to be afraid of the training and employment project soon to be announced", stressing that this was "a strategic choice that all components of the economic fabric, public and private, must adopt, as it brings added value to the company, the citizen and the labor market in general".

The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security began his visit to the province of Sétif by inspecting the headquarters of the national fund for the self-employed (CASNOS), in the municipality of El Eulma (east of Sétif), where he was given a detailed presentation on the employment sector in the province of Sétif.

Over the past five years, more than 80,000 job offers have been registered in the province, in a wide range of sectors including tourism, construction, public works, agriculture and others, including 6,090 job offers in the first two months of 2024.

The Minister continued his visit by inaugurating the headquarters of multiple regional government agencies in the city of Sétif.
