Foreign airlines operating in Algeria amid revenue transfer assurances

Foreign airlines operating in Algeria have been assured that eligible requests to transfer their revenues abroad will be processed within 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Finance.

The ministry said the deadline applies to requests that meet the required conditions and are submitted to the relevant bank.

The assurance comes as part of efforts to facilitate financial transactions for international airlines operating in the Algerian market. The Ministry of Finance, headed by Mohamed Lamine Lebbou, said any transfer request fulfilling the necessary requirements should be processed within the stated 24-hour period.

The ministry has also invited foreign airlines that may encounter difficulties transferring their revenues to contact its services directly. Airlines can reach the ministry by phone or email at contact.transfert@mf.gov.dz, allowing the relevant departments to examine reported cases and take appropriate measures to resolve them as quickly as possible.

Two telephone numbers were also provided for airlines seeking assistance: 021595721 and 021595149. The ministry said it would continue coordinating with banking institutions and other relevant parties to ensure that these transactions are carried out smoothly and that any difficulties reported by foreign airlines are addressed promptly.

The measure is relevant to the various international carriers serving Algeria, including Air France, Transavia, ASL Airlines, Qatar Airways, Volotea, Vueling, Saudi Airlines, Tunisair, and Turkish Airlines.

The ministry’s statement comes as international airlines continue to operate within Algeria’s aviation market, although the level of service varies among carriers. Air Canada, for example, has decided to cancel all flights between Montreal and Algiers for 2027, while Emirates has not yet resumed its service to Algeria.

For foreign airlines, the 24-hour commitment provides a clear timeframe for eligible revenue-transfer requests and establishes a direct channel with the Ministry of Finance when problems arise.
