Baladna Algeria is launching a large-scale recruitment campaign to create more than 1,000 jobs at its 270,000-cow mega-farm project in Adrar, with hiring expected to continue through 2027.

The campaign began on Saturday, September 5, as the Algerian-Qatari company invited candidates to submit their resumes at the Hôtel Touat in Adrar without prior registration.

Baladna Algeria announced that the recruitment campaign will target positions across agriculture, dairy farming and production. The company did not specify the different stages of the campaign or the criteria that candidates will need to meet.

The hiring drive represents a significant development for the Adrar region, where employment opportunities remain limited. It is also an important step in the development of one of Algeria’s largest agricultural and dairy projects, as construction of the farm’s facilities continues alongside agricultural activity.

The project is expected to help Algeria produce 50% of its domestic milk powder needs and reduce reliance on imports of the widely consumed product, whose price is subsidized by the government. The farm has already begun growing barley, with its first harvest taking place last May.

The overall project requires an estimated investment of $3.5 billion over several years. A first phase valued at $500 million was launched in 2025, while a second phase worth $635 million began in April 2026.

Baladna Algeria is also preparing an airlift between the United States and Adrar to bring 30,000 American cows to the project. The mega-farm covers approximately 117,000 hectares in the Algerian Sahara and is being developed through a partnership between Qatar’s Baladna group, which holds 49%, and Algeria through the National Investment Fund, which holds the remaining 51%.

The recruitment campaign marks a new stage in the development of the Adrar project, combining agricultural production, dairy farming and large-scale employment as Baladna Algeria moves toward its planned production capacity.
