A Biskria Ciment cargo was loaded aboard the MATILDA GS at Algeria’s Annaba port, adding to a series of recent cement shipments handled by the facility.

Annaba cement exports to the United States include a new 26,000-tonne shipment loaded at the eastern Algerian port on Sunday, according to Algérie Eco. The cargo belongs to Biskria Ciment and was packed in large bulk bags aboard a vessel named MATILDA GS for the US market.

The report, citing the Annaba Port Company, says personnel and equipment were mobilised and the parties involved coordinated the loading. It does not name a US destination port, buyer or expected arrival date. The cargo’s loading for export should therefore not be confused with confirmation that it has reached the United States.

The September loading follows other cement export operations at Annaba in recent months. On 27 and 28 June, the port handled two ships carrying a combined 38,300 tonnes of white cement for the US and Spanish markets, Algérie Eco reports. It does not break that volume down by destination.

On 8 and 9 September, the port loaded another 22,000 tonnes of white cement destined for Guatemala. Those were separate shipments. The report does not identify their exporters as Biskria Ciment.

The distinction in product description is also relevant: the earlier consignments are specifically described as *white cement*, while the latest 26,000-tonne Biskria Ciment cargo is described only as cement. The source does not specify its grade.

Annaba Port Company presents the operations as evidence of its role in supporting Algerian exporters beyond the hydrocarbon sector. It says it is continuing to develop port services for businesses seeking overseas markets. The individual shipments illustrate that activity, although the report does not provide a complete export series from which to measure the industry’s broader growth.
